Getting concert tickets can feel like winning a lottery, but with the right preparation and strategy, you can improve your chances. I wanted to share a step-by-step guide on how I bought my ticket for Coldplay’s London show in August 2025, and I hope my experience will help you navigate presales or general sales like a pro!

Things to Do in Advance


Before the sale even starts, make sure you’re all set up for a fast and seamless checkout process:

  1. Create or Sign In to Your Ticketmaster Account 

  2. Save Your Payment Details 

  3. Disable Extensions & VPNs – Ticketmaster may flag your activity as suspicious or bot-like and block your purchase.


Right Before the Concert Tickets Sale Starts


  1. Decide on Your Dates – Midweek shows usually have less demand, increasing your chances.

  2. Be Early! – The Ticketmaster waiting room opens 30 minutes before the sale starts. Refresh the page and enter as soon as it opens.

  3. Use Only One Device & One Tab – Multiple devices or tabs can get you kicked out of the queue.

  4. Stay Patient in the Queue – Once the sale begins, you’ll be placed in a queue automatically. Do NOT refresh the page while waiting.

  5. Bonus Tip: Wear Band Merch for Good Luck! – (Hey, it worked for me! 😂)


My Experience Buying Tickets for a Coldplay Concert


During the presale, I joined the waiting room 26 minutes early for the August 27th show and still had about 20,000 people ahead of me. After a 1.5-hour wait, I successfully secured four seated tickets in section 520, row 24 (securing four tickets for the whole family is a challenge itself hahah). Even though they were in the nosebleeds, I was beyond excited!

A few things to note from my experience:

  • During presale, I couldn’t select my own seats—they were assigned automatically.

  • I tried joining the queue right when the presale started for another date and landed at 120,000+ in line! So, joining early really makes a difference.
