Visiting Berlin for a concert? Finding the right place to stay can be tricky, especially in a city as big and diverse as Berlin. In this guide, I'll share the best areas and hotels to stay in based on my experiences attending concerts at two of Berlin's major venues: Olympiastadion Berlin and Uber Arena. I've visited Berlin for events like Maroon 5, James Blunt, and the Lollapalooza festival, and I hope my insights help you plan your perfect concert trip!

Major Concert Venues in Berlin

Berlin has two major concert venues:

  • Olympiastadion Berlin – Located in the western part of the city.

  • Uber Arena (formerly O2 World & Mercedes-Benz Arena) – Situated in the eastern part of the city, closer to the center.

Both venues are well connected by public transport, making it relatively easy to reach them from different areas.

Where to Stay for Concerts at Olympiastadion Berlin

I attended the Lollapalooza festival in 2023 at Olympiastadion Berlin because Imagine Dragons were headlining, and I couldn’t miss seeing them for the second time! Since the stadium is on the western outskirts of the city, my priority was finding accommodation with convenient public transportation connection.

Where I Stayed: Alexanderplatz – Park Inn by Radisson

Since I was arriving by train from Hamburg and my mom was flying in from Lithuania, we needed easy access to both the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) and the airport. Alexanderplatz was a practical choice due to its excellent transport connections. While not the most charming neighborhood, it was still convenient for our needs.

We stayed at Park Inn by Radisson, located right in front of the Alexanderplatz S-Bahn station. he room was okayish—not the best one I've stayed in, but it had everything we needed and was comfortable for a short stay and was reasonably priced.

To reach Olympiastadion, we took the S9 S-Bahn directly, which took around 25 minutes. After the concert, getting back was relatively easy despite the queues, and even at midnight on a Sunday, we managed to find an open kebab shop and grab some falafel before heading back to the hotel. The next day, I took the train back to Hamburg, while my mom took the S9 to the airport.

Main Takeaways:

  • Stay in Alexanderplatz for easy public transport connections to the stadium, airport and the main train station.

  • Park Inn by Radisson is a good option near the S-Bahn station.

  • Take S9 S-Bahn for a direct 25-minute ride to Olympiastadion.

  • There are some late-night food options nearby Alexanderplatz.

Where to Stay for Concerts at Uber Arena

I’ve attended concerts at Uber Arena twice—once in 2023 for Maroon 5 and again in 2025 for James Blunt. Each time, I had different priorities, so I stayed in different locations.

First Stay: Hotel Catalonia Berlin Mitte

For Maroon 5, I traveled with a friend and stayed for a few nights. Since it was her first time in Berlin, we wanted to stay somewhere close to the arena, public transport, and city attractions. We chose Hotel Catalonia Berlin Mitte, which is just a six-minute walk from Jannowitzbrücke S-Bahn station. The hotel was incredibly spacious and clean—one of the best I’ve stayed at in Berlin.

We originally planned to take a bus to the arena but opted for a taxi due to a sudden storm. However, taking a taxi before a concert can be tricky because of traffic, higher prices, and availability issues. After the concert, we walked back as the weather had improved.

On the way back, we went to the pub Tante Emma for drinks and grabbed quick bite from the famous Burgermeister Schlesisches Tor.

Main Takeaways:

  • Stay at Hotel Catalonia Berlin Mitte for a comfortable and spacious stay.

  • Located six minutes from Jannowitzbrücke S-Bahn station.

  • Well connected to Uber Arena, the airport, and the main train station via public transport.

  • Walking is a great option if the weather is good (takes around 30mins).

  • Food and drinks: pub Tante Emma for drinks and quick bite from the famous Burgermeister Schlesisches Tor.

Second Stay: Hotel Amano Eastside

For James Blunt’s concert, I traveled alone and had very limited time. I arrived in Berlin by train on the day of the concert and had a flight at 6 AM the next morning, so I needed a hotel close to a train station, the arena, and within a reasonable budget.

I stayed at Hotel Amano Eastside, right in front of Ostbahnhof station, which allowed me to reach it directly from Hamburg without changing trains. It also provided a direct S-Bahn connection to the airport and was just a 10-minute walk to Uber Arena—perfect for my tight schedule.

Before the concert, I met a friend for a quick bite at Shibuya Berlin, a Japanese gastrobar near the arena. After the show, we had drinks at ALEX Berlin Uber Platz, one of the few places still open late on a Thursday night.

Main Takeaways:

  • Hotel Amano Eastside is ideal for short trips with tight schedules.

  • Ostbahnhof station is well connected the airport, and the main train station via public transport.

  • Just 10 minutes walking distance from Uber Arena.

  • Pre-concert food and drinks at Shibuya Berlin; post-concert drinks at ALEX Berlin Uber Platz.
